Let's Support Families Affected by Sickle Cell Disease!

The Sickle Cell Association of Texas Marc Thomas Foundation (SCATMTF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to provide education, research updates, support, care coordination aassistance to families in Central Texas, San Antonio and the Houston area. We also provide every August a free week-long camp called Camp Cell-A-Bration for special needs children with sickle cell disease ages 6-14. Walk for Sickle Cell was created to help provide funds to send these worthy children to Camp Cell-A-Bration and to continue services for families affected by sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait.

EVENT DETAILS:

WHAT:
Walk for Sickle Cell is a non-competitive walk/run to raise money for the fight against sickle cell disease and to send children with sickle cell disease to Camp Cell-A-Bration.  Our goal this year is to raise over $15,000.

WHEN AND WHERE:

  • AUSTIN: June 2, 2018 - Doris Miller Auditorium, 2300 Rosewood Ave., Austin, TX 78702. On-site registration starts at 8:00am
  • SAN ANTONIO: September 29, 2018 - San Pedro Springs Park, 1315 San Pedro Ave., San Antonio, TX 78212. On-site registration starts at 8:00am
  • HOUSTON: October 20, 2018 - MacGregor Park 5225 Calhoun Dr., Houston, TX 77021. On-site registration starts at 9:00am

WHO:

  • Anyone can participate with a minimum $25 entry fee (and $30 the day of the event). Children ages 6-15 are $15 and children under 5 and children with sickle cell disease can participate for FREE. Your registration is paid by making your first donation to your campaign. You can walk, run, jog, push a stroller - we just want to see you out there!
  • You can choose to participate individually or as a team. $240 for a team of 10 adults and $480 for a team of 20 adults.
